Our Gifted and Talented students had the opportunity to study design. They were given the option to design wrapping paper or puzzles and then create them to take home.

On Monday, December 4th, the Wyandotte vocal music department performed their Christmas concert. The middle school and high school choirs were featured in the beginning of the concert with Underground closing the concert with Silent Night. The audience also sang some familiar carols.

On Saturday, December 2nd, the Wyandotte Band participated in the Baxter Springs, KS, and Miami, OK Christmas Parades. During the parades, the Band played I’ll Be Home For Christmas. Photos are courtesy of Le Beau Studio.
The band will be hosting a Christmas concert on Friday, December 8th, at 7 p.m. The call time for the band members is 6 p.m. It will be hosted in the new gym, which will have a middle school and high school band performing.

This event is coordinated by the Oklahoma BPA State Executive Council. Surrounding BPA officers were able to meet with their state officers on Thursday, November 16th and learn more about their roles and responsibilities. Students were able to ask questions about their torch awards, competitions, and state awards.

Our boys' 8th-grade team went to the Quapaw tournament. They got 2nd place in the tournament.
The 8th-grade girls in the Quapaw tournament also got 2nd place.

The high school Career Exploration class has had multiple speakers this semester. This week we had a Quapaw Nation Community Paramedic, Kyle Arnall, who spoke about careers in the EMS and Fire service. We are thankful for each of our speakers giving their time to help our students be more informed on their career decision-making.

S.M.A.C. (Students Making A Change) is hosting their annual "Richard Enyart" Canned Food Drive from December 4th-15th! Please send non-perishable items. The winning elementary class will receive a donut party, and the winning MS/HS 4th hour class will receive a pizza party provided by S.M.A.C. All donated items will go to local food pantries. On Monday, November 27th the Wyandotte FCCLA held a Blood Drive. This event was open to students of age, staff, and the community.

On Tuesday, November 14th, Archer Huffman auditioned for the 2nd round of the Junior High All-State Choir. He earned a spot in the mixed choir, which will rehearse and perform in January. He is one of 100-115 members of this choir, comprised of students from across the state. Congratulations on a job well done. It's a great day to be a bear!.

On Friday, November 10th, Wyandotte held their annual Veteran’s Day assembly. This assembly is student led by Ms. Coyne and the following student organizations; NHS, FFA, TSA, STUCO, FCCLA, Band, SMAC, NJHS, Underground Choir, and elementary students. The guest speaker was Winston “Cap” Ulrey who spoke to our students, staff, and a host of Veterans in attendance with us.

Wyandotte Public Schools will be virtual on Friday, November 17, 2023. Middle School and High School student’s assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. Elementary parents will need to check Seesaw to see how their kid’s assignments will be given.

Our SMAC (Students Making a Change) organization packed Christmas shoeboxes. The official shoebox operation delivers the good news of Jesus to children around the world that receives a shoebox. Each box is packed full of toys, school supplies, and personal care items that the kids get to have. Each child that receives a shoebox gets a wow item which was like a doll, stuffed animal, or other toys. They get personal care items, clothing, crafts and activities, and toys.

On Tuesday, November 7th, the Northeast Choral Directors Association held the 2023 Honor Choir performance in Tulsa. Jacey Holcomb and Archer Huffman represented Wyandotte. There were approximately 115 junior high students in the choir where Huffman performed. The HS choir had 114 students and Jacey Holcomb was part of that group. Forty area schools were represented in the performance that was held at First Baptist Church, downtown Tulsa. Congratulations to both for the excellent job.

Wyandotte Business Students had the opportunity to create vinyl decals and apply them to our new buses. This will help our drivers and administration organize the transportation lists daily. Mrs. Robertson said that she is always looking for real life experiences for her students and this was another great opportunity for our students and our school district to work hand in hand.

Brylen Bartley and Kaydence Harjo both signed to play softball for Fort Scott Community College. Brylen Bartley earned the District Pitcher of the Year, Regional 1st team Pitcher, and Small East All State Pitcher.
Kaydence was a District Player of the Year, Regional 1st team Infielder, and Small East All State Infielder.
