On Monday, April 8th, students from the High School, Middle school, and Elementary were able to experience a solar eclipse. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth casting a shadow that either partially or completely blocks the Sun's light. Mr. Wade purchased certified solar eclipse glasses for the entire school district to enjoy this rare experience.

On Wednesday, April 3rd students of the aviation program traveled to the capital to celebrate "AERO" day. The purpose of “AERO Oklahoma” Aviation, Aerospace, and Defense Day is to recognize Oklahoma’s aviation, aerospace, and defense industry as a vital economic engine for our state. There were over 60 exhibitors there to present on aviation topics and the students met with state legislators to advocate for continued aviation support. This was the 2nd annual event and is a student favorite around the state!

On Wednesday, April 9th, our Gifted and Talented Middle School and High School students were given Lego challenges to construct. There were some pretty amazing structures created!

-MUST take the ACT here at the school per state law or they will not be awarded a high school diploma and they will have to take it their senior year a few weeks before graduation if they are not here

On March 28th Wyandotte Public Schools and Wyandotte Nation Tribal Leaders broke ground on land for the new career tech center! This building across the street from the high school will offer agriculture, construction, and exploratory programs to middle and high school students. Wyandotte Public School is very fortunate to work closely with Wyandotte Nation Tribe, they set the bar high for leading with a vision.

ATTENTION
There will be no after-school BEARS Aviation on April 3rd.
Just a reminder that all Juniors will be testing in the Gym on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 2nd-3rd).Chromebooks must be charged fully the night before.
Junior students will check into their first hour and then proceed to the gym to begin testing by 8:30 am. If students are absent then they will have a make-up day to test (April 4th and April 9th). All tests have to be taken as a graduation requirement.

On Wednesday, March 27, WHS Aviation and 8th Grade Gifted and Talented had the opportunity to attend a STEM presentation at iFLY in Kansas City. Mrs. Morisset said, “The day was full of laughter, excitement, and a sense of adventure. It filled the room with the experience and thrill of free falling in a safe and controlled environment. A day filled with unforgettable memories.”

On Friday, March 8th, Wyandotte 8th-grade students visited Northeast Tech Afton Campus. Students had the opportunity to tour the campus and the programs they offer. They were able to visit every career tech program available and ask questions and see how everything works.

The FCCLA Spring Craft Fair held on March 15th-16th, 2024 was a SUCCESS!
Wyandotte FCCLA hosted their 5th Annual FCCLA Spring Craft Fair. With over 70 vendors, the fair was the biggest yet! Thanks to all the community members and vendors for making this event what it is today. We look forward to seeing you at our Fall Craft Fair!

On Monday, March 11th, Course I and Course II toured 3 different Spartan campuses. We started at the flight facility, then drove to the main campus, and concluded our tour at the north hangar facility. We learned about their flight program, aviation maintenance technology and aviation electronics technology programs. The students asked lots of good questions and came away with great information.

ALL vendors are local to this area and include a huge part of our student body-Senior Class, Freshman Class, Business, Choir.
