Your 5th through 9th grade student is invited to join Mr. and Mrs. Burns for BEARS Aviation!
BEARS Aviation will meet on Wednesdays after school until 4:30 pm in the commons before they move to their classrooms for reading and STEM activities. BEARS Aviation will begin on August 28, 2024.

April is national "Poetry Month" each year, and Ms. Londagin's WHS Junior English class wrote a class poem in the free-verse style of the famous Walt Whitman poem "I Hear America Singing". Happy National Nurse Day!
We would like to thank our school nurse, Kim Ferdig, for keeping Wyandotte Public Schools safe and healthy! Mrs. Butterfield said “Nurse Kim is amazing, she goes above and beyond for our students and staff. She does a great job at keeping track of everything that comes in and out of her office, which helps everyone. Nurse Kim has been a great addition to our school and I love seeing her smile.”

May 3rd is a day to celebrate our school lunch heroes! The purpose of School Lunch Hero Day is to pay respect to all those who feed millions of kids in the US with lunches. Throughout the school day, these women provide food for the faculty and the students. We are so grateful to all of our Lunch Heroes!

The choir's annual concert will be held on Monday, April 29 at 6:00 pm. The concert will be held in the Willis H. Shell Gymnasium. The concert will feature contest music and music from Barbie and The Hunger Games. Anyone is welcome to attend!

The High School Academic Awards assembly is being held on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, and Middle School on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, both of which are at 1:30 pm!

Wyandotte TSA Students attended the TSA State Conference on April 17-19. The state conference is an annual event that brings students together from all over Oklahoma. It is the major event that students plan for and work towards for their whole school year. Competitors from across the state showcase their talents and projects to judges in various competitions to win awards and qualify for the national conference. On top of competing, students have the opportunity to attend workshops and network with industry professionals.

Good luck to our 7th & 8th grade Academic Team as they travel to State to compete on April 20th. The following students will be representing Wyandotte: Orion Bentley, Lucas Bettes, Captain Mylee Ferguson, Axel Holden, and Weston Wieneke.

The STEM students at the Afton Northeast Tech campus traveled here to Wyandotte Public Schools to experience their certified flight simulator. The Redbird MX2 allowed students to practice a simulated flight for a Cessna 182 and was programmed to simulate takeoff from local airports such as Tulsa international Airport and Joplin Regional Airport. Mrs. Morisset was sure to throw challenging situations at them to put their skills to the test.

On Tuesday, April 9th, Wyandotte High School TSA students attended the Pittsburg State Construction Expo. The students dived into a hands-on exploration of construction equipment, cutting-edge technology, and tools used in the field. The presentation explored the use of new technologies used in developing new skill sets for electrical technicians.

FCCLA Going GREEN with Jeans Drive will start Monday, April 8, and go to Friday April 26th. We will be collecting old worn out jeans-any kinds, colored, bleached, stretchy, etc. The jeans will be used for sewing projects. FCCLA will also cut out shoes for the non-profit company called Sole Hope-They make shoes for underprivileged kids.
The class with the most pair of jeans donated will get a prize!
