Wyandotte Parents and Patrons,
We are changing the format of the driver's ed program at Wyandotte High School for the 2021/2022 school year. There was not a feasible way to fit the class into the school day schedule and after formulating a plan to adjust for that, we discovered that we like this plan better anyways, as it is more flexible and less of a strain on credits while at Wyandotte High School. The plan is as follows:
- Driver's Education will take place outside of the school day (evenings, weekends, etc.).
Students will meet the first full week of each semester one evening for 3 hours to introduce the course expectation/guidelines. This date can be August 23rd or 24th for first semester and January 10th or 11th for second semester classes (there will still be the summer course offered as well). These above dates are mandatory.
The written portion will be online with some mandatory class participation time to be scheduled.
Mrs. Coyne will be available to students on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-7 for any questions about their written work.
All written material must be submitted by the end of the 1st 9 week period for each semester.
Driving will be scheduled according to instructor/student availability with driving finishing by the 2nd week of December (1st semester)/last week of April (second semester).
The course requires 30 hours of written work and 6 hours driving.
