Congratulations to the 24-25 Elementary Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Bayley Hessee!

The Wyandotte Elementary School Teacher of the Year is Bayley Hessee. Mrs. Bayley Hessee is an exceptional kindergarten teacher. Her warmth, creativity, and dedication make learning a joyful experience for her students. Mrs. Hessee’s ability to connect with each child and inspire a love for learning has earned her the admiration of students and colleagues. Here are a few of the things they had to say about her:

  • She has taught my son this year so I’ve had two different perspectives in watching her as a teacher. One as a parent and the other as a colleague.

  • Mrs. Hessee has taken our kindergarten program to the next level and set the bar high. She is a team player who works well with her other colleagues at her grade level.

  • I have seen tremendous growth in my own son’s academics and his behavior this year improved significantly as well. Other kids that we worked together on behavior issues; she was very receptive to my ideas and was great at getting along with others to be able to help kids in her room. Every time I visited her room it was under control, kids were interested and engaged. Mrs. Hessee deserves the teacher of the year award.

  • Mrs. Hessee always seems organized, has control of her classroom. Kids are well behaved, have learned and follow their routines. She takes appropriate action when kids get in trouble. She is a team player with other colleagues and truly cares about her students.

  • Mrs. Hesse is a teacher who cares about her students and knows how to engage each of their minds while nurturing their individual needs. She is kind, considerate, and builds connections with her students. She makes learning fun and engaging. Mrs. Hesse is always lending a helping hand to her co-teachers and offering assistance wherever she can.

  • Mrs. Hesse has tailored instruction to meet the unique needs of each student, recognizing diverse learning styles and providing differentiated support to ensure everyone feels valued. She builds positive connections with her students, creating a safe and supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

  • I love walking into Mrs. Hesse's classroom and watching her teach her students. She interacts with her students in a positive way that builds their confidence. They have structure and consistency and know what is expected of them. They are self-sufficient and know that if they need help, they can always go to her for assistance. She has taught them to think outside of the box to use different ways to solve problems and complete assignments. They have learned responsibility and are comfortable in their classroom setting. They will walk up to her, talk about their rough morning or night at home, and hug her without hesitation, knowing she is there to listen. The bond she has built with them is intentional.

  • Mrs. Hesse has created a positive and inclusive classroom environment, effectively differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs, and fostering strong student engagement through interactive activities. She has strong communication with families and clear expectations from her families and students.

Help us congratulate our Wyandotte Elementary Teacher of the Year, Bayley Hessee!
